We had great weather for our first spray out day on February 18. Because of the great weather, we were able to spray out the entire golf course in just one day.
It took about three to four days for the spray to have an effect on the turf and by seven days post spray, the entire golf course browned out. Although the turf is not actively growing now, the course is still playing nicely and the ball is rolling out a bit more in the fairways.
We did not spray out the greens during the first application. We will spray out the greens on the second application on March 11 and 12.
We have lowered the height of cut on the greens to .095”, which is less than 1/10 of an inch. The greens are rolling very nicely and are averaging about 11 feet 6 inches on the stimp meter. Please continue to fill divots throughout the golf course and, as always, fix ball marks on the greens and rake out all foot prints in the bunkers.
Reminder: we are scheduled to spray the golf course on Monday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 12, weather permitting, in preparation for the re-grassing project this year.
The golf course and practice facilities will be closed on these two days. Signage reinforcing the course closure will be placed at entry points to the golf course. Please refrain from entering the course on these days, including the walking of pets.
If weather conditions do not allow for the application on these days, the schedule will be delayed. Additional announcements will be made as we get closer to the spray days to either confirm the date or about potential delays and alternative spray dates.
