The 2020-21 season is upon us! The registration sheets for Opening Week Tournaments are on the sign-up board just outside the Golf Shop. We kick things off on Tuesday, Nov. 3 with our Opening Twilight, a Scotch Scramble Member-Guest. It's a 3pm shotgun with an outdoor cookout after golf. The Men's and Ladies' Founder's Cup will be played on Nov. 4 and 5. This is the make-up tournament that we missed in the spring due to the health crisis. We will resume our seven-day schedule at Hobe Sound Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 19. The golf course, practice facilities, and lunch in the Lounge will be available every day. A new adjustment to the golf schedule will be introduced this season: On Mondays, the first tee will close at 12pm to enable our Golf Course Maintenance Team to perform uninterrupted work on the entire golf course, including top-dressing, verti-cutting, and fertilizing. Summer is ending much like it started. We have received over a foot of rain in the last four days and the golf courses north of us are reporting even higher totals. The following cart paths are impassable: #5, #6, #7, #8 to #9, from #10 to #11, #13, #15, #16, #17, & #18. With that being said, the course will remain closed until further notice. Where will the water go? All of the water from Cove Road south must flow through our property to reach the Loxahatchee River. Historically Hobe Sound averages 63" of rain annually. An additional three inches of rain fell at Hobe Sound Golf Club in the last 24 hours, causing the Oct. 2 Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament to be canceled. The area received over three inches of rain the previous night as well. The golf course, range, and practice facilities are closed for the day (Friday, Oct. 2.)
