Today is the summer solstice in our hemisphere, meaning the longest day of the year and officially the first day of summer. Due to COVID-19, I know that many of you have remained here in Hobe Sound instead of returning north for the summer. So a friendly reminder: the heat hasn’t set in daily just yet, but the humidity is here and, with it, almost daily afternoon thunderstorms. Please abide by the course rules concerning the ThorGuard Lightning detection/prediction system. In an average year, every square mile in Florida experiences 20 lightning strikes. HSGC Reminders for Golf Course Care

I hope everyone who played yesterday and today enjoyed being back on the golf course. I'd like to thank Clinton and his staff for the amazing work in getting the golf course ready for play after all that rain. I'd also like to highlight a few reminders for the care of our golf course: The picture below is of #12 green. This morning the maintenance staff counted 28 unrepaired ball marks. Please repair your ball mark and one other. Lightly fill all divots with the sand provided on the golf carts. Keep all four tires of your golf cart on the crushed rock path.
